St. Michael Court 342, Mahnomen, Minnesota
was established on Sunday, July 18, 1948. The
day started with high Mass followed with breakfast.
Reverend Justin Luetmer was the Court Chaplin.
St. Michael Court 342 was installed.
Miss Josephine Weigel, High Secretary from Chicago, Illinois, was present
at the installation as guest officer and was assisted by Edna Hass of Detroit
Lakes, Minnesota. There were 27
beneficial members and 5 junior members. 8
members were transferred from Sacred Heart Court 262 in Waubun and 1 from St.
Catherine Court 693 in Redwood Falls.
St. Michael Court 342 celebrated their 50th Anniversary on
July 12, 1998. Activities through
50 years: Nursing Center Birthday
Party, May basket Party, Corporate Communion Sunday, Mass for deceased and living
members, Family events and Picnics, Christmas Party, Rosary for Wakes, Fund
Raisers for School, Hearts and Hands Projects for families in need (lots of
meatball dinners), Donations to School Marathon, K9 Unit, Bird Aviary for
Nursing Centers, Fans for Nursing Center, Sponsored a child from Ireland,
Alzheimer’s of MN, MCCL (Mahnomen Chapter), Jaws of Life, Answering machine
for school, Priest pictures with names & dates of service in our parish,
Hours of volunteerism by all our members, Donation to Seminarian Burse every
year.
The Court meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 1:30 P.M. in the
winter and 7:00 P.M. in the summer in the church meeting room.
